What do I need to transfer my Domain Name(s) to Quikclicks?
1. Ensure your Domain Name was not recently registered or transferred within the last 60 days
.com, .net, or .org Domain Names cannot be transferred within the initial 60 days of being registered, or within 60 days of being transferred from another Registrar. If your Domain Name was recently registered or transferred you will need to wait until this 60 day period has passed before initiating your Domain Name transfer.
2. Check the Domain Name status is “Active” or “OK”
To successfully transfer a Domain Name, it must have its status set to “Active”. If the status is “locked”, you will need to have the domain un-locked through your current registrar.
We also recommend initiating your Domain Name transfer at least 7 days before an expiration date. If the domain name expires during the transfer process, the Domain will stop working and effect the functionality of any website and email service you have for this domain. This can also make the transfer process difficult to complete in some cases.
3. Obtain the Domain Authorisation Code (also known as the EPP Password)
To transfer a .com, .net, or .org Domain Name, you need to obtain the Domain Authorisation Code (also known as the EPP Password) from your current registrar. This is often enclosed in your welcome email form the Registrar when first ordering your Domain Name. You can also often obtain the Authorisation Code by logging into your Domain Management account with your current registrar or calling them to request for it to be emailed through to you. You will need to enter your EPP code when ordering your Domain Name transfer.
4. Check the Registrant contact’s Email address for the Domain Name is correct and up-to-date
During a transfer, an Authorization Email is sent to the Registrant contact’s Email address for the Domain Name. If this Email address is inaccessible, you should update it with your current registrar before initiating a Domain Name transfer request.
